Who handles your information
Kobciye Studio is an online coding school for Somali-speaking learners. This policy covers information handled through our website and learning platform. For privacy questions, contact the platform operator at awale822@gmail.com.
Information we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, profile image when supplied, optional phone number, timezone, language and theme preferences.
- Authentication information: protected password records for password accounts, sessions, and linked provider identifiers and tokens needed for social sign-in. We do not receive your Google or Facebook password.
- Learning activity: enrolments, submitted code and quiz answers, grading results, lesson progress, video playback milestones, reviews, XP, streaks and leaderboard activity.
- Discussion posts, replies and information you send when asking for support.
- Technical and usage information: session IP addresses and browser details, device category, timestamps, and events such as opening lessons or using platform controls.
If paid enrolment is offered, payment-related records may include the provider, transaction reference, amount and status. Payment options and their provider are identified during checkout.
How we use information
We use information to create and secure accounts, deliver courses, check exercises, save progress, operate discussions and motivation features, send account, email-confirmation and password-reset emails, answer requests, prevent abuse and understand where learners need help.
Your discussion contributions and profile information shown with them are visible to people who can access that discussion. Your displayed name and learning activity may appear in the platform leaderboard. Avoid putting private information in posts or submitted code.
Social sign-in
Google sign-in is available when configured. Facebook sign-in is being prepared and is not yet available. When enabled and chosen by you, these providers may supply an account identifier, name, email address and profile picture according to your permissions and their policies. Facebook may not supply an email address.
Connecting a provider to an existing account requires the platform’s account-linking checks. Each provider also handles information under its own privacy policy.
Cookies and browser storage
We use session cookies to keep you signed in, browser storage for preferences such as theme, and a per-tab identifier to group usage events. Our own analytics records platform interactions and learning activity. Blocking cookies or storage may affect sign-in or saved preferences.
Service providers and sharing
Neon hosts our PostgreSQL database, Cloudflare Stream delivers lesson videos, and Resend handles account email delivery. Hosting and network providers process requests needed to serve the website. Google, and Facebook when enabled, handle the social sign-in you choose. These services may process information outside your country.
We do not sell your personal information. We share information as needed to operate these services, respond to your requests, protect the platform, or meet applicable legal obligations.
Retention and security
Account and learning records are kept to provide your account and learning history. Technical records and database backups may remain for their configured retention periods. Access controls and other safeguards help protect information, but no online service can guarantee complete security.
Students can confirm account deletion by email from Settings. This removes the account, credentials, sessions, learning records and authored discussion posts. Minimal payment records are retained without the account link or provider payload. Backups expire under their configured retention periods. Requests that cannot use self-service deletion are reviewed manually; we will explain any limitations when responding.
Your choices and requests
You can edit supported profile settings in your account. Contact awale822@gmail.com to request access, correction or deletion of your information, or ask about privacy rights available in your location. We may need to verify that the account belongs to you.
See our data deletion instructions for the request process. We update this page when our practices change and show the revision date above.
